Westview's Devon Wallace dunks the ball on a fast break late in the fourth quarter. Wallace scored 10 points for the Wildcats.

The top-ranked Crusaders dropped by Westview High School February 2 for the second of their three games against the second-ranked Wildcats. Westview was looking to even-up the season series after their 61-56 loss to Jesuit January 15. It wasn’t to be.

Westview coach Pat Coons is left shaking his head.

Jesuit shot well throughout the game and Westview did not.

The Crusaders led 25-20 after the first quarter and never looked back, leading by as much as 17 points. Westview brought the game within 8 points early in the fourth quarter, but then gave it back with a series of quick turnovers. Final score: 81-65.

With the win, Jesuit practically locked up the Metro League title and the first-round playoff bye that comes with it. Westview should finish second in the state’s toughest league.
