Shoni Schimmel and the Franklin Quakers beat the Cardinals 52-43 January 15 at Lincoln High School to improve their league record to 10-3 (3-0 in conference play).

Playing against the fifth-ranked Quakers, unranked Lincoln kept the game close into the fourth quarter, and even took the lead briefly in the third period. But the raw talent of Schimmel, a national top-10 prospect, her sister Jude, and newcomer Samantha McCloud proved too much for the Cardinals to contain.

The game was the first appearance with the Quakers for McCloud, who was granted eligibility earlier in the week after transferring from Pendleton over the summer. The move reunited McCloud with the older Schimmel. Both played for Hermiston in 2007-08.
