Lynn Bondo and the Pioneer Bar

Every year, Lynn Bondo volunteers behind the bar during the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nev.

Though the upper floors of the Pioneer Hotel now house the Western Folklife Center offices, the main level remains a saloon. The Pioneer Bar is an 1890 Brunswick back bar made of mahogany and cherry wood inlaid with mother-of-pearl.
